Have you always wanted to learn to make bags? This is the perfect class for you. You, no doubt have seen these adorable petal pouches all over social media and now you can learn to make them yourself. They are great for gift giving or make several for yourself to stash chocolates, sewing clips, hair clips, phone charger and the list is endless.

It is now required that you purchase your pattern, fabric and supplies at Crafthouse - Why? We're glad you asked. We start teaching and get to know you during the shopping experience. Plus, we are familiar with our products and work hard curating quality products for you to achieve the best results in garment sewing. 

PREPARE BEFORE CLASS!
  • Purchase Pattern - Everyday Essentials by Noodlehead NOTE: We will be making the larger bag  (6 1/4" high x 10" wide, 2" deep)
  • Purchase Materials
    • Exterior Fabric: FQ or 1/4 yd
    • Lining Fabric: FQ or 1/4 yd
    • Fusible Woven Interfacing (Pellon SF101): 1/2 yd
    • 10" zipper
    • Notions: Thread, (2) 1/4" x 5" scraps of leather/ribbon for zipper pulls (optional)
    • Purchase any needed tools - see list below
  • Wash and dry fabric per fabric directions.
  • Come with fabric cut out.

  • Denim or Microtex sewing machine needles
  • Fabric scissors and pinking shears
  • Rotary Mat and Cutter
  • Pins
  • Tracing paper
  • Fabric marker/pencil (Fine tip if possible)

Sewing Machine?
You are welcome to use a shop machine - Bernina or Husqvarna. If you prefer, bring your personal sewing machine and owner's manual. We reserve the right to ask you to use a shop machine if machine difficulties arise during class.

Skill Level: Advanced beginner
Requirements: This is not a Sewing 101 Class. Some previous sewing experience (ex: threading a machine, winding a bobbin, basic sewing knowledge and several projects completed) is required for this class. If you have never sewn before and want to learn, consider taking Sewing Skills Primer/Review and Sewing 101 before our other project-based classes. We want your experience to be a positive one.
